FASHOLA TO BPSR: MAKE INFORMATION MANAGERS COMMUNICATE GOVT’S ACTIVITIES EFFECTIVELY

Minister of Works and Housing, Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN, said the President Muhammadu-led administration have executed key socio-economic programmes and implemented critical policies for the masses’ benefit, since it came on board in 2015.
Fashola, however said many citizens are still ignorant and unaware of government’s achievements and other key activities.
The Minister, stated this when he hosted the management team of the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR), who paid him a courtesy visit, at the Ministry.
He charged BPSR to play a bigger role in making information managers to effectively communicate government activities.
Fashola, a former Lagos State Governor, said everything in the Works and Housing Ministry is changing, especially the working environment and quality of service-delivery.
The Minister, said he also worked on the mental stability of staff in his Ministry, by organising a quarterly retreat in the six geopolitical zones of the county.
He stated that the Ministry is also mindful of the Executive Orders, most especially Order 01 to 08.
“The Ministry has come up with an innovation by assigning personal responsibility to staff. In no distant time, Nigerians will witness where a particular project will be assigned to a person or group of persons with his name, and phone number attached to the project. So, anything that goes wrong with that particular project we will know who to hold responsible,” he added.
Mr. Dasuki Ibrahim Arabi, the Director General of BPSR, commended the Minister for his transformational leadership, assuring that their Bureau will assist the Ministry implement critical reforms that will improve service-delivery to teeming citizens.
